Abstract
Future wireless networks will provide mobile access anywhere and anytime, with a seamless integration of all available wireless and mobile technologies. Mobility management enables roaming and seamless handover between different wireless technologies, while maintaining security and quality of service aspects. The resulting technology will set a framework for the development of a next generation of mobile applications. In the Netherlands these topics are studied in a collaborative project entitled: "Beyond 3G". The paper gives a project overview, summarizes our visions on future radio systems and describes the development of a small-scale demonstrator.
