Abstract
Considered the conflicts of pedestrian, non-motor vehicle and right turning vehicle in the crossing as factors of design, the types and quantities of crossing was summarized and the defects was explained. Taken the minimization of conflicts as the design goal, based on the method of conventional four-phase signal control , a new signal control method of crossing with the consideration of pedestrian, non-motor vehicle and right turning vehicle was presented and the types and quantities of the new method was discussed, and theoretical results showed the zero conflicts. At last, the traffic capacity of a crossing with the method presented was calculated, the conclusion indicated that the new method can greatly reduce the conflicts of the road crossing with a normal traffic capacity.
