Abstract :
This short paper introduces the current state of asynchronous transfer mode networking technology as developed and demonstrated by the Olivetti Research Laboratory in Cambridge. The author´s company is in the process of developing commercial products employing ATM technology, and these are described together with some speculation on the emergence of ATM technology as a ubiquitous communications solution
