Abstract :
This paper is focused on the problem of multiuser detection (MUD) using the modified particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm for direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) systems with space-time block codes (STBC). This novel approach is robust and near-far resistant with a parallel processing structure and a relatively feasible implementation. Simulation results validate the proposed detectors take advantage of the particle swarm algorithm and have a significant performance improvement in terms of multiple access interference (MAI) mitigation.
