Abstract :
A method of detection based on ground penetrating radar (GPR) and makes use of professional three-dimensional (3D) engine interface-OpenGL to realize true 3D visualization of underground pipelines was proposed. The radar antenna was used in the field survey with the survey wheel mode data collection, process and analysis on obtained GPR image were carried out, and finally the interpretation result was verified by the excavation data. This paper is based on interactive transparent 3D visualization of the 2D GPR profiles to determine the pipelines location. This application can also be the platform of the advanced systems such as pipelines design and simulation emergency.
