Abstract :
The control of quality in industrial plants is an emerging field for signal processing applications. Among the numerous techniques utilised for detecting defects in materials are ultrasonics. We present a real-time prototype for the detection of microcracks in tiles of wet ceramic by means of ultrasonics. This non-destructive evaluation needs processing of the ultrasonic signals due to noise associated with these signals. The digital signal processing is based on the Wigner-Ville transform
