  • Abstract
The electronic processing market is a rapidly growing market, the number of main frame computers as well as mini and micro computers is ever increasing. Since sensitivity of all types of computers to interruptions in the power supply has not decreased, it remains a must to ensure an Uninterrupted Power Supply. The UPS requirement is increasing in the area of industrial electronic plant e.g. controllable drives, electronic control gear and monitoring systems etc. In addition both data communication systems and medical equipment must be supplied without interruption. However, the technical requirements for UPS have partially changed. The power demands of critical loads and the tolerance requirements of both voltage and frequency constancy have changed. Demands for high reliability and efficiency with more compact construction have, however, remained unchanged. New components, new knowledge of the use of existing components, and new or modified system philosophies have led to recent interesting system solutions.
