  • Abstract
The availability of modern computer controlled telecommunication systems can be vitally improved by applying uninterruptible AC power supply. The most important AC provided devices are rotating memories, printers and similar data processing equipment. In contrast to previously applied large central DC/AC-inverters new circuit designs allow creation of very compact dedicated units. Due to its small volume and high efficiency of approximately 90 %, the new inverter technology should soon gain ground on further areas, as for instance solar photovoltaic systems, emergency power plants etc. Output power of a few thousand watt can be realized by applying nowadays available switching transistors with corresponding driving technics.
