Abstract
Relaying has recently emerged as a field of more and more interest for researchers. In the strategies we use certain mobile terminals that have good communication links with the base station to act as relay nodes for those that do not have. Provided that the subscriber density is not very low, relaying via wireless terminals can have a significant impact on transmission power, SIR, and the proportion of content. This is mainly due to the fact that the signals only have to travel through shorter distances and/or improved line-of-sight paths. In this paper, we only investigated two-hop relaying and the effects of relay node selection strategies on system performance. Simulation results show that the system coverage can be improved according to different relay node selection schemes.
