Abstract
The electronic power processing hardware in telephone switching systems makes use of the multiple-output DC-DC regulated converter because of the space and cost savings which can be achieved. However, successful application requires that the minimum load dilemma (light or no loading on the closed-loop output and heavy loading on the auxiliary output) must be resolved. This paper describes the circuit configuration, control system, and component characteristic principles of a multiple-output DC-DC regulated converter. The unit power output vs. power input characteristics are described and compared to an ideal DC-DC power conversion unit.
