Abstract
Summary form only given. Cesar is a generator which can deliver a very strong electron beam (350 kA, 700 keV, 65 ns ). This beam is used to study different materials subject to a very rapid and intense solicitation. The measurement of the shock wave which is generated in the material is one element of interest to characterize the material. A 4-way Photonic Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) technique allows us to obtain 4 measurements at the rear surface. We had only 2 ways in the past. We will show how this information took an attractive part to increase the knowledge of the spatial distribution of energy.
