Abstract
A dual-band cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna with varying permittivity in φ-direction for IEEE 802.11y and IEEE 802.11j systems fed by coaxial probe is proposed in this paper. The proposed structure is constructed using two different materials having different permittivites. In order to determine the performance of varying design parameters on resonance frequency and bandwidth, parametric study is performed by using the software HFSS. It is observed that the proposed structure resonates at two different frequencies at 3.68 GHz and 4.95 GHz. The proposed antenna can cover both bands of the IEEE 802.11y (3.65 GHz - 3.70 GHz) for Wi-Fi and IEEE 802.11j (4.90 GHz - 5.10 GHz) for the WLAN systems.
