Abstract :
This study demonstrates the occurrence of subharmonic stochastic synchronization or ghost resonance in a bistable system, using a polarization switching vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL). This work investigates the response of such polarization switching VCSEL subject simultaneously to two (or more) weak periodic input current and a Gaussian white noise. Finally, this paper discusses how these experimental results can be described theoretically using a two mode intensity rate equation model.
