Abstract
This paper starts with an investigation on the continuous limit (infinite coupling) and employs a linear stability analysis to determine the strength of the Peierls-Nabarro potential for the onset of discreteness (limited coupling). At the end, this study arrives at an analytical expression approximating the critical angle of the incidence of the holding beam, for which discrete cavity solitons start to move in transverse direction. Based on these results, collisions between resting and moving solutions are investigated for a fixed holding beam inclined under an angle, which is close to the critical angles of the interacting structures.
