  • Abstract
    Proposes a new approach for the estimation of the number of hidden nodes in a BP neural net, and a semi-experimental expression is given. Along with the comparison of the recent results concerned, the authors discuss the effect of input patterns. A new activation function f(x)=exp(-x2) is also proposed, which may decrease the nodes of the net for XOR problem
