Abstract :
The quality of journals is primarily related to the number of citation of published papers. Various measures of evaluating the quality of journals are being discussed and compared here. Unfortunately the citation analysis is almost impossible using manual examination of references. This must be done by developing special computer tools for extracting data from various locations. Also, if only journal citations are of the interest then this information is already preprocessed on different web sites such as GoogleScholar, PublishOrPerish, or WebOfKnowlege. However, if for example someone wants to analyze performance of editors, associate editors, and reviewers, then the problem is much more complicated. These would require development of specialized computer tools for automatic data processing. The presented paper is a description of such approach.
