Abstract :
This study demonstrates a different type of all-optical switch with multi-wavelength conversion, capable of storing and controllably forwarding optical pulses. The mechanism behind this device is electromagnetically induced transparency, where an optical signal interacts resonantly with a three-level atomic system and a control field. To describe the dynamics of this system, a set of coupled partial differential equations is solved numerically.
