Abstract :
This study shows that the direction of motion of cavity solitons (CS) may suddenly reverse as the wave vector of the input phase modulation increases. Surprisingly, the final destinations of CS then correspond to minima instead of maxima of the phase modulation. The consequences of this phenomenon can be devastating in practical applications unless care is taken in the selection of the wave vector of the input modulation.
