Abstract :
The purpose of the present work is to show that, when the operating parameters of the laser diodes are within the range of the regular pulse package regime, the system can be adequately modified by shifting the frequency of the light fed back into the laser in order to generate very stable trains of pulses emitted at the external cavity frequency. Additional simulations reveal that the control can be achieved in a very broad change of detuning and that a realistic level of spontaneous emission noise leads to negligible amplitude and timing jitters.
