Abstract
This paper discusses chaos and its control in a periodically stimulated artificial neuron. The neuron includes bipolar hysteresis whose threshold is stimulated. The authors derive a one dimensional return map explicitly and prove chaos generation. Also, the authors propose a chaos control method that operates only in a linear region. It can stabilize any unstable periodic orbit embedded in chaotic attractor
