Abstract
The authors present the main ideas and results about previously developed linear models of interresolution dependence, which are probabilistic models. They discuss applications of these models in image processing methods, whose general way of operation is filtering. The special features of these filters are as median-type ones, and the ability to perform several tasks, such as restoration from noise, smoothing, etc. Some examples are given to illustrate the procedure
