Abstract :
An explicit finite integration (FI) method using local spatial and temporal fine grid is studied for efficient electromagnetic field computation with a flexible representation of the material structure. The accuracy of the proposed FI method is examined numerically and compared with the subgrid technique. A photonic-band computation shows the efficiency of the proposed method compared with the FDTD method.
