Abstract :
The modern power electronics based on use of semiconductors, which have a high switched current and a small voltage drop. At switching circuits with voltage of 20-200 kV their use becomes complicated because it is necessary of semiconductors with their control circuits series connection. It would be desirable to use in these cases the vacuum electronic tubes, capable to withstand high voltage switching. Advantage of vacuum devices is also the opportunity to limit short-circuit current and to work at the high frequencies. The limiting of vacuum electronic tubes application in power electronics are high power losses in conducting period.
