Abstract :
Based on the progress of hyperspectral data acquisition, information processing and geological requirements, the current status and trends of hyperspectral remote sensing technology to geological applications are reviewed. The advantages and prospects of hyperspectral remote sensing applications to mineral recognition and mapping, lithologic mapping, mineral resource prospecting, mining environment monitoring, and leakage monitoring of oil and gas, are summarized and analyzed. Finally the open problems and future trends for this technology are pointed out.
