Abstract
Based on a recent study on the optimal FIR stack hybrid (FSH) filtering under the mean absolute error criterion, weighted FIR median hybrid (WFMH) filters are proposed in this paper. These filters do not need any complicated design procedure, as do the optimal FSH filters, but include many FSH filters commonly used in practice. Some properties of WFMH filters are studied and the applications of WFMH filters to image recovery from impulsive or Gaussian noise are considered
