Abstract :
A digitizer guided manual/automatic control system of cold rolling mill was designed in order to realize the cold rolling of seamless steel pipes with complicated outline. The system has the functions of local real-time monitoring and remote supervision. The operating principle and the structure of the control system were introduced. The digitizer and G code were used to program and the fitting and interpolation method was adopted for the smoothing process of the trajectory, which was recorded during the teaching process. The steel pipes produced by the machining playback have good quality. Practices show that this system is full function and has good reliability
