Abstract
The authors propose a procedure for synthesis of finite automaton by using ternary master-slave set-state type, JKL-type, D-type and T-type flip-flops. This procedure is different from the previous methods. Here the expression for the excitation inputs and outputs of an automaton are obtained by means of the state-triggered matrix, state-transmission matrix and output matrix instead of plotting K-maps. Since K-maps are not used and the procedure is suitable for program operation on computers, it may be used for the synthesis of the finite automaton with multiple inputs and multiple states
