Abstract :
In a complex target environment it is assumed that there will be radar returns of short time duration. Conventional methods for resolving the range ambiguities perform poorly because of the nature of these signals. This paper addresses novel schemes to resolve range ambiguities of single short impulsive signals. An effective technique is shown to be multiplexing two or more coded CW waveforms in time or/and frequency. Although the technique would ideally be implemented on a linearised transmitter, it is shown that it can be implemented by a saturated amplifier if the bandwidth of the waveform is increased
