Abstract
The authors present a novel and effective global routing algorithm for VLSI building block layout (BBL). By dividing a channel with irregular boundaries into two parts: main channel with parallel boundaries and remnant portion, they define a new concept of `remnant channel´. Their router signal nets are assigned to utilize the remnant region effectively and reduce chip area
