Abstract :
Accurate estimation of the core power losses in the transformer design is essential. It saves engineering man-hours, reduces delivery cycle, optimizes the use of core materials and maximizes energy efficiency. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how support vector machines method can be used in regression mode to estimate core power losses. The findings of this work and the methodology used are compared to other relevant methods and alternatives.
