Abstract
An unconventional resonant mode has been explored in a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA). Shaped aperture has been used to excite the DRA. This results in strawberry shaped radiation patterns with highly linear fields and 5.4 dBi peak gain. About 130° half-power beamwidth appears to be its specialty.
