Abstract :
An experimental setup is designed to study transmit beamforming over UWB multiple antenna configurations. We use time-domain spread spectrum channel sounding to simultaneously characterize system impulse responses and prove our capability to carry out high accuracy measurements. By exploiting the high quality impulse response data, we applied multiple input single output (MISO) phase compensation (PC) beamforming. This setup can be used to investigate practical issues which are not usually addressed in simulation models, such as imperfect channel estimation or coherency between the multiple transmitters.
