Abstract :
We discuss the process for realizing non-Foster active networks for antenna matching. Negative Impedance Converters (NICs) have recently gained a lot of attention, since they allow for overcoming fundamental limitations of small antennas. Here, we employ four NICs to match a patch antenna to 50-Ohm feeding. Each circuit is tested for its stability when loaded with the full network and we employ a method for reducing the open loop gain by introducing losses in the feedback loops of the network.
