  • Abstract
    Reactive power compensation plays an important part in power quality conditioning. In this paper, a new VAR compensation technique which called the VAR compensation technique based on AC-AC converters is introduced, and the principle and compensation characteristic are described. A closed loop current control scheme is presented. Finally, the simulation and experiment are presented to demonstrate the performance and the feasibility of the new VAR compensation system.
