Abstract :
We study the error-resilient Slepian-Wolf compression for correlated binary sources in this paper. In previous works, the compressed bits are usually assumed to be transmitted in a perfect channel and thus, received without any error. However, we introduce the Gaussian channel and protect the compressed bits with error-protection (EP) codes. A joint decoding and decompressing structure based on the exchange of extrinsic information is presented and its performance is analyzed using EXIT charts. The influence of the codeword length is also investigated.
