Abstract :
We present a simulation study covering the relation of service dynamics to the transfer and evaluation time of measured system state information in self organizing multi standard joint radio resource management (JRRM) systems. Architectures and algorithms based on network-initiated and mobile-initiated actions are compared. The used hybrid simulation and modeling framework allows for a cost-benefit investigation of different hierarchical JRRM architectures as well as of decentralized ones. For each scenario the stationary and the transient system behavior has been investigated. The results show the influence of mobility and service times as well as the necessary trade-off between measurement expenditures and the handling costs of connection failures caused by aged information.
