Abstract :
Switched mode rectifier technology is evolving to produce designs that are compact, lightweight and increasingly easier to manufacture. By taking advantage of forced air cooling, state of the art power components, and high frequency switching a 2 kW switched mode rectifier can now be entirely PCB mounted. This provides a significant reduction in manual assembly and a corresponding reduction in manufacturing defects as compared to conventional switched mode rectifiers.
