Abstract
The paper deals with a versatile low-power d.c. power plant for the no-break supply of telecommunication systems. This power plant is foreseen for export markets which require supply voltages, output voltages and powers very different from case to case. The power plant described can be simply presetted for operation with all the standardized single-phase and three-phase input voltages at 50 and 60 Hz and with the 24V/250A and 48V/125A nominal output. The rectifiers, converting directly from mains at 20 kHz conversion frequency, vary in number from one to five, parallel operating with load sharing and selective cut-off in case of failure of one of the units. The system is mechanically built into a standard 600 Ã 600 Ã 2100 mm rack and the rectifiers in standard 19" rack chassis, 4 units high. The paper describes circuit solutions, performances, characteristics and reliability aspects of the rectifiers and the power plant.
