Abstract
A impedance waveguide working in the THz spectrum is studied. A high impedance (Z1) is surrounded by two lower impedance (Z2) surfaces. Total internal reflection is the requirement for the guidance and confinement of the waves in the waveguide. The waveguide model predicts the dispersion relation for the lowest five TM modes. The guiding channel is varied for different impedance ratios Z2:Z1 of 1:10 and 1:3.
