Abstract :
The availability of power from a hybrid system can be economically maximized by considering overall control methods early in the system design process. Factors to consider include energy availability of the power sources, fuel costs, and load priorities. Control methods that track and make control decisions based on the actual battery state of charge can offer significant advantages over other methods currently in use. This paper discusses the different methods available to the system designer.
