Abstract :
This paper presents a review of important analytical tools to obtain magnetic parameters of loosely coupled magnetic circuits. Circuit theory - Electric and Magnetic, present a simple picture to engineers to formulate and solve magnetic circuit problems. The traditional reluctance based magnetic circuit models have a number of limitations that need to be addressed to solve the magnetic problem. This has been highlighted in this paper. The magnetic parameters can be analyzed using circuit theory after computation using analytical techniques. Analytical techniques including Neumann´s integral and conformal mapping (Schwarz-Christoffel Transformation) can be applied to compute the magnetic parameters. Applications particularly in the area of wireless inductive power transfer (IPT) has been considered.
