Abstract :
The combination of PV system and a diesel engine genertor allows a power supply of over 1 KW mean consumption at an advantageous cost, with high reliability and a low maintenance. These targets are reached with special principle sizing, the consequence of which are: - an optimization of the operating of the diesel engine generator - a reduction of the peak power and the capacity of the storage battery - a reduction of the overall costs. A concrete example in the South of France, using a data processing supervision shows the technical and economical advantages of that system.
