Intelligent Energy Efficient Control in Air Conditioning

In modern electronic equipment offices such as telephone exchanges and computer centers in sub-tropical areas, nearly half of the total energy consumption is spent in providing suitable air-conditioned environment. Large energy saving in excess of 50% in air-conditioning is achievable through cost effective control and close matching between supply and demand. This paper describes some key features of energy efficient measures in the following areas : (1) Climatic control for electronic equipment (2) Chilled water temperature optimization (3) Variable fan speed control (4) Efficiency improvements of air handling units
