Abstract :
This paper proposes a new adaptive jitter estimation algorithm for voice-over IP networks. The adaptive network jitter estimation incorporates rapid detection of delay spikes and reacts to changes in network conditions. The proposed algorithm can more correctly estimate the network jitter than the conventional algorithm during spike intervals, thereby effectively reducing the jitter estimation error.
