  • Abstract
This paper proposes a user pairing control method for multi-cell shared multi-user MIMO relay (MC-MU-MIMO relay) to improve the throughput of cellular networks. MC-MU-MIMO relay system sets a multi-antenna relay station (RS) at the cell boundary and the RS is shared with adjacent cells. The proposed relay system can improve the throughput of cell boundary due to increasing signal to noise ratio and reducing adjacent cell interference. Since MC-MU-MIMO relay system transmits the data simultaneously toward multiple users located in adjacent cells, a user pairing control for simultaneous data transmission is important to improve the efficiency of channel. This paper proposes a user pairing control method with distributed ordering users for communication by considering the effectiveness of the relay. From computer simulations, we can confirm that the proposed method can improve the throughput performance without increasing the number of RSs.
