Abstract :
In this work we show, for the first time to our knowledge, room temperature cw-laser emission for Nd at 1.06 μm in a NaLaW single crystal using a quasihemispherical linear cavity. The Nd-NaLaW crystal has been grown in air by the Czochralski method. Improvements in the concentration and size of used single crystal Nd-NLaW samples, as well as modifications in the cavity will lead, in a very near future, to the optimisation of the obtained slope efficiencies, threshold and output powers.
