Abstract :
Personal information management (PIM) had been forwarded by Vannevar Bush six years ago, however until recently researches about personal information have become a hot research topic due to the explosion of the amount of digital documents. Most of these researches are focused on web and information is related to all aspects of a person. In this paper, the research about personal information management is restricted in an organization. It is not entirely equivalent to personal information management in web because of the limit of the scope and the diversity of the data sources. This research can bring a great convenience for a employee and raise the efficiency in the work because an employee in this organization needs a substantial amount of time gathering and managing his/her own information and his/her concerning information. A framework for personal information integration in an organization (PIIO) is proposed in the paper. An experiment validating the feasibility of the framework is provided. Through that, an employee can flexibly browse and manage information concerned about by an employee and information associated with the employee through a uniform view.
