Abstract :
Ubiquitous Sensor Networks provide information collected through sensor nodes at anytime, anywhere. USN can be used in various application areas such as distribution and logistics with tracing, shipping, inventory and delivery of products. Applications and sensor nodes communicate with each other through database middleware in USN. Accordingly, effective query management in database middleware is important in order to enhance the speed of sensor networks that contain enormous sensor nodes. This paper presents a database middleware which supports data-driven query processing method. The data-driven query processor is triggered by data, not by a request. The data-driven query processor has advantages of saving space and time in finding results from sensor nodes. The proposed middleware is applied to a logistics business system.
