Abstract :
We constructed a Q-switched Yb:YAG laser giving 14.5 kW peak power at a 10 kHz repetition rate. We have demonstrated a wide tuning range of 51 nm, for CW operation, and 29 nm for Q-switched operation at 10 kHz. The maximum peak power was 0.63 kW, for the 99% reflectivity output coupler, and 1.2 kW for the 97% reflectivity output coupler. These values can be scaled up, by increasing the input power.
