Abstract
This paper discusses the approach and benefits of using object-oriented modelling frameworks for constructing performance models of communications systems. Examples are drawn from the field of military communications, and the principles behind a modelling framework are described with reference to Data Sciences´ Library for Object Oriented Modelling (LOOM)
